Happy Birthday, Dear Pluto!

Did you know that today is Pluto’s birthday? For those of you who don’t know him [not many, I know], Pluto is Mickey’s dog! He is a cartoon character that was created in 1931 by Walt Disney Productions. In most of his appearances, Pluto gets into some sort of trouble and causes Mickey to be upset with him. That often doesn’t last long and Mickey forgives him quickly. We LOVE Pluto at our house because he is always so fun and silly. We always look forward to meeting Pluto on our trips to Walt Disney World and Disneyland because you just never know what he’s got up his sleeve! In honor of the occasion, I thought I’d share some of our favorite fun times with Pluto over the years…

Meeting Pluto “in person” for the VERY FIRST time at Goofy’s Kitchen at the Disneyland Resort:

Seeing Pluto later that week at Disney’s California Adventure:

What’s in your mouth, Pluto? [Getting a little older]

Pluto is DEFINITELY our friend:

Pluto getting very silly with Sally [my daughter’s stuffed unicorn that joined our girls’ trip for photos]:

Here is one of those magical water drawings that you might be lucky enough to see if you keep your eyes peeled for the magical janitors…especially during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party:

Hanging out during a private party along the shores of the Grand Floridian with Pluto:

Visiting Pluto at Chef Mickey’s at the Walt Disney World Resort:

As you can see, we’ve had a whole bunch of fun growing up with Pluto over the years. It sure seems like yesterday when we played with him for the first time! Time sure does fly! I’ve got a real fun project to share with you that you can create with your school-agers too! It’s a Pluto travel pillow from our friends over at Spoonful.com! Disney Vacation Club Surprise Welcome!

Can you imagine what this little boy is thinking when he opened the door to his Resort room? Just have a look at those cheek bones and feel the warmth of his smile! I can only imagine how I’d be feeling if it was me!! Wow!!

The Dream Makers are constantly thinking up new ways for guests to add magical experiences to their vacations and this one really takes the cake…or, cookies in this case! Those Mickey footprints you see on the floor leading the way over to Mickey and Pluto? They are actually mouse pads that you can use at home to remind you of that very moment you stepped into your room…and there are plenty for the whole family!

As if owning Disney Vacation Club and knowing that you have guaranteed vacations year after year to The Place Where Dreams Come True wasn’t enough already, you can now add some extra special Pixie Dust to the next time you hear the words “Welcome Home” by getting in touch with a Dream Maker over at the Walt Disney World Florist.

My favorite part about this fabulous In-Room Celebration is that beautiful banner you see hanging on the wall next to the bed. You can get that personalized with the year that your family became Disney Vacation Club Members! I don’t know about you, but I’d definitely bring that on every Disney vacation and display it proudly! Be sure to check out all of the great items included in the DVC Welcome Celebration and plan on it for your next trip Home!
